We chose Clemens because of the IB program, which is great. My kids are getting an excellent education. The IB teachers are very dedicated, for the most part. The reason I didn't give the school 5 stars is because of lack of parent involvement.

We love this school. This is my daughters second year attending and I am pleased with almost all her teachers. The schools drama teacher is somewhat of a hag but other than that the school is great.

Yeah, because obviously watching drug deals go down in class is okay. Admin doesn't know what's going on, the AP program suffers, and if your kid is interested in music, join band, because Choir and the other music programs have to beg money from the Band Director.

Samuel Clemens HS is a great school and overcrowding is not an issue, due to the opening of another HS in the district. Many things have changed since 2003, when many of these reviews were initially posted. The teachers are some of the best and they truly care about their students. Athletics are over
... Read more emphasized at all Texas schools with winning traditions, which Clemens normally has. Student to teacher ratio is great. Administration places a strong emphasis on discipline, but are willing to work with parents and student that are having problems. The small town atmosphere is what makes it a great place to live, actually. Are there better schools, of course, but Clemens is still exceptional, IMO! Read less

Samuel Clemens is a wonderful high shcool full of diversity, and cultural awareness. Its located in a great town with a wonderful community feel. They offer plenty of AP courses, and a solid accidemic foundation for college bound kids, in a safe inviornment.

Clemens overall is great. Teachers give one-on-one help, and my daughter has received a GREAT education from this school and this district. Our family does not care for the principal, for he is extremely dishonest.

I have child attending SC and am not very pleased with the program. Maybe the overcrowding is a factor. But I do know that my child is very frustrated with the experience. There are students who break the rules especially the dress code that are not disciplined while others appear to be singled out

I think that parent involvment is very low due to either personal circumstances and the feeling that the district does not care what the families have to say. I really wish I could afford to send my child to a private school for a better academic education. Read less

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
English as Second Language
English language classes for students whose first language is not English.
