My daughter attended this school last year. She is bright and loveable. Unfortunatley, this district places children in the G.T. classes that do not qualify. It is more important to be recognized in the social click than to advance academically. Parents bipass the teacher, principal, and chain of
... Read more command to go straight to the top to demand results. The system needs to be revamped, & parents must look at their child objectively. This district needs to advance children based on academic achievement not social promotion. The teachers are great and work very hard. Parental pressure needs to take a back seat to allow the academic curriculum to work. Read less

My son is in Mrs. Robyn Burns kindergarten class and she is a blessing from God. I love her way of teaching. She truelly loves her 'friends'- that's what she calls her students. ... Read more is in 1st grade and she is at least on a 5th grade reading level and there are no extra activities for her to excel even further. There is plenty extra help for the children that are behind which I think is great but what about the children who are above. Read less

My son is currently in kindergarten at Wollam, he loves it. His teacher, Michelle Frizzell is absolutely wonderful. She takes time with each child to make sure they understand the assignments and she is not afraid to put in the extra time if needed. I truly belive this has given him a great start

My son attends this school and he is very happy. He is in Kindergarten this year and is doing good academically-thanks Michelle Frizzell. He also attended last year for his Pre-K which was most excellent great job-Amy Miller. I hope that they keep the funding coming for the Pre-K program there.

My daughter attended Pre-K last year at RJ Wollam. She loved every minute of it! I couldn't of asked for a better teacher (Amy Miller). She was very responsive to each child's needs. Thanks for an awesome year! So, far kindergarten is going great. I'm sure this year will just as good as Pre-K.

My child spent the first 9 weeks of school learning shapes, colors and nursery rhymes - things he already knew and was well beyond. He came home from school almost every day with a 'note' on his calendar about disrupting class because he was bored. Parent/teacher conferences were a joke! The teacher
... Read more was more interested in discussing her personal life (husband, glad she wasn't home with her kids, etc.) or talking to other teachers as they passed in the hallway. I spent the 2nd nine weeks trying to convince the teacher to give my child worksheets in math (I would provide the source material) to work on during the review of shapes and colors (yes, they were still working on this!). She assured me that she would - however, it never happened. In January, we were finally able to get our child moved to another class. However, it took my husband and I meeting with the teacher and principal to get this accomplished. Once he was moved, there was never another note about disrupting class or misbehaving. The school needs to implement better procedures for testing, teaching and placement of children in classes. Teaching to a whole class of children at the lowest level isn't teaching. Read less

I have two children that have gone to RJ Wollam. I feel that the classes have too many students in them. I know that they are at the State acceptable level, but i fell that they would learn more if the class sizes were smaller. I have a child that has had a few learning problems and the Teacher
... Read more told me she had 21 other students to teach and she did not have time for much one on one. She could not help him understand the questions. I had to bring him in early and he has had to miss recess to get the extra time he needed. This isn't that big a deal when he truly needed the help but he felt like he was being punished for missing recess and having to come in early. Read less

Advanced Placement
