I had heard many negative stories about Stony Point High School during it's first few years. ... Read more of the negative stories I heard were exaggerated by the local media. My son is now a junior and he loves it there. He has made lots of good friends and is very involved with several campus activities. I feel he is safe and flourishing. He has never regretted moving from his old school. The only trouble he's had is being overwhelmed by taking all Pre AP and AP classes (at the recommendation of a counselor). Too much homework caused stress and some bad grades but he's bouncing back strong! Read less

The parents who were in attendance were clearly committed to their child's education as well as the school's mission. Our daughter opened SPHS in 1999 and graduated in 2003. My son started at SPHS in the fall of 2003 and graduated in 2007. There were growing pains as in most brand new schools but the knowledge base and experience of the teachers couldn't have been better and the facilities are state of the art! Excellent

My son is excelling at Stony Point. He has great teachers that challenge him and they provide all the help, including before and after school tutoring, that he could need. Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Vocation/Technical Curriculum

A school or program within a school that provides services and training to students with moderate to severe mental and/or physical disabilities.
Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
English as Second Language
English language classes for students whose first language is not English.
