This is a very good school, It focuses on high standards, as well as a number of traditions dating back to the first graduating class. The teachers are tough, but fair, and are always willing to help a student in need. Parents are very involved, as well as citizens of the cities of Port Neches and Groves.

Large turnouts go hand-in-hand with PNG Football Games, and the school currently holds both the National and State records for turnout at High School Football game, with 49,953 Indian fans attending the 1977 Texas State Championship Game. The Music Programs are also very prestigous, and the Purple Pride Marching Band's 'Marching I' Maneuver is recognized around the state and 'First Division' Trophies are common in the Band's awards cabinet, which takes up two of the school's hallways. If you are not from the area it is very hard for your child to fit in, even if they begin at Kindergarten. Port Neches-Groves High School has one of the best High School marching bands in the whole Southeast Texas. The honor, pride, and tradition involved in seeing the band exit the field while performing the 'Marching I' is something that cannot be explained, You just have to experience it for yourself.

Very Political! If you want your kids to be recognized for their achievements you (the parent) must be very active in the PTA, Drill team, booster clubs etc. Your child will not be recognized for their own achievements!

PN-G is the best school in this area, probably one of the best schools in Texas. They normally have an award winning extracurricular program. Advanced Placement

Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
