I feel the schools staff are wonderful, the principal has lots of knowledge that helps lead the teachers in the right direction. The only bad thing I feel about the school is the parents, no one wants to volunteer. The few PTA parents that are involved seem to be the only one's that have been able to

It seems when there is a PTA function going on the parents can make that and just sit back and enjoy it without any contribution to the event. Like I said the staff at this school is wonderful and have done a great job for our kids. We parents need to learn from them and give some love back. Read less

I have to say I am happy with this school and the staff. The reception clerks need more training on how to speak to parents and visitors but all in all the school is good. I am very sad to say that the reason most parents get frustrated is because they do not get involved and they do not try. Volunteerism

If they volunteer they would meet all of the staff and their children will see them doing things, other than watching television. I wish that most of the parents would put up or shut up about the school because they don't even try to find out what is going on at the school. This school is old but it's got heart. Read less

I was re-zoned to this school. I am All about diversity. However, I was not prepared for my child to be a minority and one of the few English speakers in the entire school. This has been a horrible start to our year and we laughed at other neighbors who wanted to move when we we're re-zoned, but I am

Why did they zone it this way? 60% of the students are on the free lunch program, it creates a subpar learning system and the wealth should be shared around in this school district, not burden just a few schools with the problems. If you can, look elsewhere, the entire pearland district is pretty poor in our opinion, we are actually thinking of moving either south to Clear Lake or west towards the Katy area. Read less

We have 3 kids attending Lawhon and this is our 5th year. Out of all the teachers my children have had, only one didn't seem to have it together and she was only there for that year. My kids have always gotten all the added help they needed whether it was tutoring or help with peer conflicts. The
