I went to this school for my freshman and sophomore year as an Engineering academy student before transferring to Dulles. In all honesty, this school makes it because of the academies. The majority of the students are very rude and disrespectful towards the teachers. Some teachers just let them get away

Send your child here only if they are going to be in an academy and make sure they take the Honors and AP classes because the Advanced classes truly aren't worth it (unless the student has to due to class restrictions). I have volunteered at HHS for 3 years and see a lot of great things happening at this school. However, if some parents don't get what they want they want to leave and go to another school. Pat Paquin is always in the halls and very visible during the day. It is easy for someone to complain about her

Every school has need for improvement and we as parents have to be part of the fix. I think that parents need to be more involved in their students education. * In 2006-2007, the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) was used to test students in reading in grades 3 through 9; in writing in grades 4 and 7; in English language arts in grades 10 and 11; in mathematics in grades 3 through 11; in science in grades 5, 8, 10 and 11; and in social studies in grades 8, 10 and 11. TAKS is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Texas. The grade 11 Exit Level TAKS is a high school graduation requirement. The goal is for all students to score at or above the state standard.

Test score ratings are based on the most recent standardized test results reported by this state. These ratings may help
you compare similar schools in this district or area. For example, a rating of 8 indicates that, on average, students in
this school scored better than 70% of the students in the state on the same tests. We have indicated below which tests
were used in calculating these ratings. Other factors should be considered when comparing schools, including teacher
experience, academic programs, extracurricular activities, resources for special needs students, etc. These ratings are
not provided by the state Department of Education, which may have their own rating systems.
