My Granddaughter goes there and I am always bragging about the school offering cosmetology classes that will enable the students to be able to obtain a job right out of High School. Her name if needed can be provided, she is a senior this year.

My daughter is a Freshman. So far so good. When she missed a class due to traveling with her team the school call letting us know how many classes she missed.

The teachers in this district love what they do. In the past (in other districts), I have contemplated putting my own children into private school. This is not an issue with McKinney ISD. I have complete faith in this district. I would recommend this district to anyone.

After moving from the midwest, was very disappointed with this school district. The students have total control over the administration. It's very obvious that there is little respect for rules or adult authority. Let's just say $$$ talks at this school.

I've had one son graduate from MHS, he applied at 2 universities and was accepted to both based on his GPA, AP standards and SAT results. My other son is now a junior and with many regrets for me, he decided to go to Boyd, our new high school for various reasons. The principle at McKinney High is remarkable

One daughter made it through fine. One daughter who had trouble, skipped school over 9 times without us even knowing it. We were never contacted by phone. We were never contacted of disciplinary action until we began paying regular visits to the house principal. Teachers and coaches worked with us,
... Read more but Principals were there to get the student through the system. We were very disappointed after our daugther skipped 30 times in her senior semester and they graduated her. She didn't get the education we paid for or expected for her. We are moving out of McKinney school district for this very reason. Read less

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. Vocation/Technical Curriculum
Vocational and/or technical courses offered within a comprehensive school, usually a senior high school.
Special Education Classes
A school or program within a school that provides services and training to students with moderate to severe mental and/or physical disabilities.
Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
English as Second Language
English language classes for students whose first language is not English.
