Gilmore has been wonderful. We moved here from the NE side of town (Humble School District). We thought he Humble district was great but CCISD and Gilmore staff have been great! My daughter is going into 5th grade and just comleted her second year at Gilmore. School is organized, staff is very cooperative

Gilmore is a truly wonderful school. My daughter was in the first Kindergarten class at Gilmore and now in the first grade. The teachers are all experienced and caring. Leadership is positive and supportive at every level. PTA is very supportive of school needs, program enrichment, and a wonderful
... Read more group for parents to volunteer a little or a lot of their time. The music and art teachers really expose the kids to many styles of the arts. The school counselors started a program for kids going through divorce which helped kids see that they aren't alone in their experience and sadness. There is YMCA after school program available, art classes, karate, etc. Girls Scouts is offered at the school. It has been a wonderful experience all the way around and I hope it will remain as healthy and positive for all the children throughout the years. Read less

... Read more seemed that throughout the year, teachers were teaching the TAKS test instead of actual subjects (3rd-5th) though this is a common trend in most of the areas schools. My biggest complaint would be the absence of a foreign language program - with such a high area hispanic population, Spanish courses would have been both helpful and appropriate. I have one daughter attending Gilmore and my sister has two sons in attendance there. This school has tremendously aided my daughter in her first grade learning skills. She moved to this school 3 months after the year started and has fit in comfortably and made many new friends. She is near the top of
... Read more her class as far as progress and obedience goes. The teachers are awesome and keep me informed of everything that goes on with her and the school. My sisters sons (2nd and 3rd graders) are challeged everyday with homework and class assignments. They are learning so much and at a faster rate than their previous school. Advanced Placement
