I think Mr. Drake was a great Principal. I graduated from La Porte and started high school when Mr. Drake begin his career as a principal in La Porte. I can honestly say that from the day i met him, he was alway dedicated to education and committed to success on our campus. The teachers were also great,

I am currently a student at LPHS and find it to be a great campus. Staff is outstanding, testing scores are good, and the student body is very friendly(not hostile). Our school is very active incorporating clubs, music groups, leadership activities, sports and an always outstanding annual musical.

Both of my children attended La Porte High. I feel that most of the teachers they had were truly dedicated to teach the children, and showed respect and concern for them. I do believe they received a good education. My children played sports, and the school is dedicated to their athletics, but some
... Read more of there facilities could use some work. The principle, Mr. Drake, is great. He has always been available and open with me when I had any questions or concerns. The school also has some wonderful counselors. However, I am unsure about the current superintendent. I do not agree with everything she does. Read less

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. Before/After School

Vocational and/or technical courses offered within a comprehensive school, usually a senior high school.
Special Education Classes
A school or program within a school that provides services and training to students with moderate to severe mental and/or physical disabilities.
Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
English as Second Language
English language classes for students whose first language is not English.
