We love Tobias Elementary. My daughter had the Best kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Robin Moore, she could possibly have and this teacher went above and beyond what most teachers do. We are very pleased with Tobias and feel our children are getting a grade A+ education there. The score '3' does not tell
... Read more you how much the teachers truly care and are dedicated to their students. It was a large school that lost many children due to two new schools. I know without a doubt that the scores will soar for this last school year. You will be happy here at Tobias Elementary school. The only problems I've had are that the principal isn't very social and doesn't tend to reach our to new parents. This school is the first place that my 3rd grade special needs child has really excelled! She made the honor roll for the first time! The special education department has been wonderful and even with a mid-year change of teacher for her, it has been smooth with no interruption of services. I'd recommend

When we moved here about 3 years ago I had 3 children going to this school and everyone was wonderful. My youngest had a hard time adjusting and her Kinder teacher was great and would take time out to have a one on one to let me know how my daughter was doing. Of course there have been a few teachers
... Read more that we have gone through that my children have had that were not the best with children, but all in all the teachers are great. We especially love Mrs. Chilek. I also feel my kids are safe at this school. You now have to show I.D. to enter the building and sign in. This school is great! Read less

I was very impressed by Tobias. However, now that we are losing the dual language program, I am deeply saddened and angry. My daughter will now have to transfer schools to follow the program which leaves her with no way to be bussed to her dad's school or leave the program all together. I wish they

No one has mentioned the Dual Language (Spanish/English) program at this school. That is worth an extra star right there. It is incredibly forward thinking and is helping to create multi-lingual individuals from Kindergarten on up.

The advanced Alpha H program for elem. students is only 4 hours a week, and advanced materials in the class are only available if the teacher will assist. They cannot provide curiculum beyond the current grade level. Some great teachers but more should be provided for students that want to learn.
... Read more They rotate 'specials' computer time, art, music with an extra dose of PE. There is a good level of parental involvement and an above average PTA. The principal meets with parents monthly to answer questions and go over issues. They are focusing on science in their curriculum now. Read less

Advanced Placement
