Wow! Teachers are highly dedicated- support staff is just that- very supportive. The assistant principal is very approachable as is the principal- my child transferred from a school in Austin. We had some behavior issues there and it was stressful. We came to Negley and the teachers worked beautifully
... Read more with him- surrounded him with love and support and the behavior issues all but disappeared. He has become a leader because of this school's support of him and our family. They truly believed in his success. PTA has been a little wishy washy but I know that because the school is still relatively new there are some things that need securing. Also, there are a lot of changes districtwide- so staff has had a lot to contend with all of the changes. This school has been a great change for our family. Read less

Prior to going to Negley elementary, my son attended a local private school. Negley has surpassed all of my expectations. the curriculum is at a comperable rate as that of private schools and my child seems to be much happier at Negley than he was at ihis old school. Currently, I have 3 children in Negley. Over all, we have been very pleased. One of my children has gone through the process of being flagged for a reading difference, placed first in reading intervention and then tested for dyslexia. This year she was placed in the EXCELLENT Dyslexia class! I can't
... Read more say enough good things about this class. The process was slow, of course this is on the painful timeline of parent watching a child struggle. This district is amazing when it comes to children with learning differences. Every year they have a parent education seminar on Dyslexia. My other children have also had great experiences and been very challenged academically. They have clubs galore.... my son in Kinder enjoyed Chess Club and My daughters loved Garden club and Choir. Wonderful School. I am always greeted with a smile and conversation when I arrive. Safety is very important at Negley. Parents are asked to show ID upon entering the school. I feel like this is a plus for security. Several parents feel it is inconvenience but I truly appreciate the time and dedication
... Read more to the safety of my children and all the NES students. Front office very warm and kind. Nurse is awesome. Teachers are happy to have parent involvement. Afterschool clubs and tutoring are offered. Administration is very hands on with the students. You will always find the principal or assistant principal in the cafeteria during lunch time. Read less

This is my daughters second year at NES. We came from California and she is now in 4th grade and she loves it. They have a great sense of community. Throughout the year they have so many school activties, math night, parent nights it is wonderful. We live in the Plum Creek Subdivision just so my daughter

we transferred our son from negley after one year. although his first grade teacher was fantastic, we found much of the rest of the school sorely lacking. the lack of community in all aspects of the campus was a glaring deficiency. as a parent, i felt that i was not welcome in the school. at the

Read more end of the school year, i was still being greeted as if it were the first time i had been to the campus. the principal and his secretary are controlling to the point of exclusion. their insensitivity to children and parents is shameful. the assistant principal is -on the other hand- wonderful. if we had been unable to transfer to a different campus, we would have considered moving or home-school rather than return to negley as it is presently defined. Safety and security of all students is a big plus for this elementary school. Each visitor must present a state issued ID which is ran through the RAPTOR System before entering campus. Staff and teachers are very nice.

Negley is a wonderful school,I have three children here and they are very happy. The teachers and principle are wonderful at this school.My children are thriving at this school. The pick arrangement needs a little improvement but then again if parents would stick by the school rules of picking there

Advanced Placement
