My daughter started grade one late in the year (October) Her teacher made her transition seamless. She was buddied up with a friend so she didn't have to play alone, she was made queen for the day. At the end of the day she felt so positive about her first day. Her teacher also prepared all the children

One word of caution concerning bullying at HLE. Just because one personally did not experience bullying at HLE does not mean that it did not happen. It happened for several years to several children. I am glad that you personally did not have to deal with any issue like that nor do I wish it on anyone.

We have taken percautions and our child is not going to BCI because of issues just like you stated. I agree with you about HLE teaches way too much to the TAKS. School starts and kids are already stroking out about TAKS. The pressure is just too much on these kids. Read less

Office staff and teachers are dedicated, friendly, overall great. Admininistration is lacking and are clearly focused on the TAKs test and attendance, not the individual student.
