Although we are newcomers, we were wel-comed and taken right on in as a part of the Sundown family. The kids love the school. The office staff are courteous and helpful. My son is in kindergarten and has done great. I dont know if all of the teachers are great but my sons was. I tried to teach him at home but got nowhere. This school also seemed very caring to me. Everyone is nice and helpful. Also they are doing a lot of renovations this summer! I would highly

All this school is good for is the billingual. I think they don't have enough intellegence to teach anything but that. I have a child in the 1st grade struggleing with the REACH program. So somewhere in there it is falling through the cracks.

This is a great elementary school! It has an incredible bilingual program, grades PreK-5 (maybe because Sundown was the first school in Katy to offer a bilingual program). Sundown has also kept their art and music classes as well as physical education. In which such classes every student is introduced

Sundown offers a preschool program for children with disabilities,as well as a regular preschool program. Students at Sundown participate in a variety of exciting instructional and enrichment programs: Junior Achievement; Accelerated Reader; Challenge (gifted and talented); DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance Education); grade level field trips;student council; and other activities. While there are alot of good teachers at this school the principal does not seem to enjoy his time there. One being that at lunch the tables have stop lights at the end of them and if just one student talks too loud or speaks to someone at another table or even gets up, the light is changed from green to yellow. More violations turn the light to red. The whole class loses recess time for this, up to 15 min out of 20. They must stand outside perfectly still during this time watching the others play. With only one break per day this can be extreme. Read less

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level.
