It find it interesting to read the reviews written by parents who complain about everything from uniforms, to extra curricular activities, to the teachers who spend countless hours trying to help their students be successful. Perhaps they should try coming up to the school and volunteering for awhile.

We work with limited funds, limited parental support and apathetic kids. Considering all of these hurdles I think Sheridan does a heck of a job educating your children. I could go on and on, but why bother. You can't pleasee everyone and there will always be someone out there that has something to complain about. You try doing what we do and working with what we have to work with and see if your feelings are the same. Read less

I have to agree with the other submitter. The teachers do not go out of their way. They do only what is needed and that is it. I would have never moved here had I of known. The Cutting in the pick up line and drop off is ridiculous as well as no crossing guards and parents dropping their kids in the middle of Keith harrow as well as picking them up in the middle of the street. I am satisfied with Sheridan as far as huge schools go, but I worry about supervision because of a few things that my child has told me about on the playground. Rumor has it that our neighborhood will be rezoned into a new school in 2008 which might lessen the load on the staff at Sheridan. I was suprised

I would have to disagree on the uniforms. It is much less expensive than goingout to purchase the brand names etc that the kids want. It teaches them at a young age that we are all the same on the inside and it doesnt matter what you wear...believe me, that is coming in Junior high and High school. I

I do hear Sheridan will have less kids next year due to the addition of a new school, but then again we hear this every year. I hope the district can get this zoning under control and the numbers down to lower the stress on teachers and students. We have been very happy this year with teaching and teachers. Read less

This school has a terrible stale, musty odor about it when you walk through. There are way to many kids and alot don't speak English. The kids have to wear school uniforms is ridiculous as its in effective and more cost on the parents (many low income in the area). School uniforms should be middle and/or

There is not much offered as far as extra curricular activities or at least I never hear much about them. Read less

The school seems to be doing better and the teachers seem more caring than in the past. It seems the growth around the area is still a hinerance on many things. Hopefully by next year 08 this will mellow out with the addition of new schools and zoning. We are keeping a close eye on Sheridan and anticipating

My kindergartener's Meet the Teacher Night impressed me. We were concerned about how well the school would meet our expectations. Instead of making the students sit with the parents for the entire orientation, they were introduced to the teacher and led away to their classroomss! What a great idea!

He knew what to expect the first day of school! He was excited the first day and shows only confidence each day. He is learning sign language as they cover the alphabet and also some basic Spanish.
