Excellent, vested and caring teachers. Excellent curriculum. Inclusive environment for the students. There is room for improvement in the clickiness of some of the volunteer staff, but at the end of the day the children have a great educational experience - what really matters.

I wish someone had warned me about the overcrowding at Alexander. It is the largest Elementary in Katy and houses over 1200 children, many of which are taught in exterior mobile classrooms. The gym has up to 100 children during PE and the kids are not allowed to run during PE because of the overcrowding.
... Read more There are not even enough seats for the children on the bus, forcing some to seat 4 children on a bench designed for 2. The high standards and nurturing qualities of this school are offset by the extreme overcrowding which I wish we had been warned about before choosing Grand Lakes as our neighborhood. Read less

Excellent acedemic school with a wide variety of art and music programs both extracurricular and in the classroom. Other extracurricular activities available as well. Alexander is a spectacular and magical place for children to learn. The teachers are top-notch. As part of Katy ISD, parents are welcomed in the school to volunteer in many capacities. The specials program is very strong with outstanding Art and PE programs. This school has been a God-send to my

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level.
