I went to Katy for all four years of highschool & it was a really great experience. People can say that it is only football based but that is entirely not true. ... Read more to great sports teams. It is a very comfortable environment with a social group for any personality type. I did all AP courses, graduated with a 3.9 & wasn't even top 10% which shows the academic integrity of the campus. When I went to college, I was surprised by how unprepared many other students seemed to be... did their highschools not prepare them for a continuing education like Katy did for me? Involvement in Katy was very easy & a great social tool for me. There's something to gain for all students here. Read less

Thank God it is not just me. I was beginning to worry....Katy is the place to be if you are into football. They put way too much emphasis in to it. ... Read more put in practicing, you would think that they have mandatory tutoring sessions or something academically in place for them to show them that they really care. These kids should be taught that they are student-athletes!!! Student comes first. There is nothing in place to keep these kids on track in the classroom while they are out working for Katy! I personally know of a few Kathy athletes struggling because they are not getting the quality time in with the books. Get it together Katy! Teachers wake up! Parents wake up! Read less

Katy High School is a good school if you are active in band, Football or any other non-academic field. They spend way too much money on the Football part of life. I have students who are not into all that extra stuff, and are in Gifted and Talented classes. The school does not even acknowledge Academic
... Read more Excellents, but you can get a State Championship Ring. Overall, if you don't think Katy High School is great, just ask the parents, they think they are the best. Teachers are the same as anywhere else, nothing to brag about. Read less

... Read more felt different. When they tried to start clubs for people with their interests (video), they were told there was no equipment or teaching staff to run it! You'll have to work hard as a parent to NOT have them fall through the cracks.....ALL students need to feel a part of the campus - and unless they play football (or participate in its ancillary entertainment)....Good Luck! I have a daughter that is a senoir and a son that is a freshman at Katy High School. Both kids are very involved in both academic and extracurricular activities and they love it. ... Read more much I quit my coorporate job and went to work for the district just so I could spend more time volunteering at the school. Katy has a great athletic program that not only allows the students to gain physical activity, but promots leadership, teamwork and academics. Katy High School is a great place for any student to get a good education. Read less

I have a student at this school. The only issues that I have are that they put to much importance on football. My son plays but I can not believe how much money is in the booster club. It seems that money could be better used for educational needs. Also not much help from the counselors. Students feel

Katy High is a wonderful school. Many people move ot the area just to have their child attend Katy High School.It has an excellent football programand many other activities. There are fine arts programs that help produce fine actresses/actors/musicians. The teachers and staff and also wonderful and caring.

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
English as Second Language
English language classes for students whose first language is not English.
