I begin TXVA in 2008 when we enrolled my son in 7th grade. I have to say it was a rough year. Our materials were late and it took us a while to get things started. Everything eventually fell in place. This year 2009-2010 my son is in the 8th grade. Things are much better that last year. Our materials

I also have my daughter enrolled now and both of my children really enjoy it. The've mentioned many times that they are learning a lot more than they had learned in a regular public school. Read less

I enrolled my daughter last April for the 2009-2010 school year. We received our materials at the beginning of august as promised. We were able to access all her class work on August 17th. Although we could have started school that day we were strongly encouraged to wait! The school has an EXCELLENT

The teacher/help desk/everyone we have spoken to have been overly helpful!!! I strongly recommend this school to anyone who wants to have something to do with their childs education and not drop them off for a horrible principal to raise! I want to be involved in my childs life and hope that more people decide to follow this and get involved! The teachers and staff are at this school to help you along the way! Read less

We've had an excellent, seamless start: materials delivered ahead of time great communication from the school, & even some hand-holding to help us get acclimated. This school is one of the best tools for my children's education at home. The curriculum is great and seeing my kids test scores reinforces how much they are learning. The atmosphere and community is great for those who want to educate at home but do not think they can. TXVA makes it easy and enjoyable.

We are finishing up our first year with TXVA, 6th grade. We've been very pleased with our daughters progress. The curriculum is outstanding as are the extra curricular activities that are offered. Our daughter has enjoyed the enrichment of Art, Music and foreign language. This school does not teach

The teachers are highly experienced and have been available to help with any issues or questions that have come up. They have been available by email and phone and we have a lot more parent teacher conferences than regular schools. For the first time I truly feel we are parents in my child's education. Best of all though, our child is doing well and feels confident and good about herself. Read less

I am greatly offended by the comments about teacher quality in TXVA. I am a teacher with this school and I can tell you, I am more than qualified to teach in this type of environment. Personally, I have over 20 years of teaching experience in the traditional brick and mortar school and I am currently

Yes, it is nice to be able to do the job we love from our homes, but that does not mean we are not qualified to teach your children. Most of us got out of traditional schools for the same reason you decided to take your own children out. This school is better than regular public school for these reasons: the focus is on your child and not on the discipline of 25 other students; the teachers ARE experienced and highly qualified; and TAKS is not taught year round. We began TXVA in 2008 when the enrollment numbers were increased allowing my sons to join. In the beginning there was a lot of stress and frustration as we acclimated to this new system but now, well into our school year, we have adjusted and made this curriculum and organization work for our needs.
