The leadership, faculty, and staff (our extended family) are great and clearly foster an academically challenging and supportive environment. As a private school, it is rich in diversity and offers young men the opportunity to explore themselves and excel spiritually, academically, socially, and even explore creative talents in the arts, forensics or athletics (One of only a hand full of private schools competing in UIL). This is an awesome school. Very diverse - socially, academically. athletically. These young men work and play well together. Some alcohol/drug issues but nothing as serious as a public school of equal esteem.

Strake has giving my son the opportunity to understand what men for others really mean. It also gave him a chance to mature as a person as well as academically. The teachers, faculty and staff are the best I have ever seen. Thank you Strake!!!!

This is a place for jocks, theater kids, debate, and gamers. This school has its priorities mixed up. They care more about how they appear, like their facilities and smartboards, then they do about the students. The teachers also care more about whether your wearing a belt, or if your shirt is tucked in, than they do about actually teaching you. The bottom line

All of our sons have attended Strake Jesuit. The transformation of young boys into mem for others is amazing. The academics are the best. The amount of extracurricular activities and sports are unbelieveable. My oldest is at an Ivy League Univesity and he says he is so much more prepared than the other

This is an awesome school. My son is a freshman and I know he will be welll prepared for college and life. The teachers are the best. The sense of community of this place is awesome. The only down side is the administration, they appear to be tough on some issues and lenient on others. I did not agree

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. AP classes are specific and not to be confused with other higher-level classes such as honors classes.
Before/After School
"Extended day" programs where the school day is extended before and after school to accommodate working parents. These programs should not be confused with common after school clubs or athletic activities.
Gifted and Talented
A school system may identify 10% to 15% or more of its student population as gifted and talented. A brief description of each area of giftedness or talent as defined by the Office of Gifted and Talented:
general intellectual ability or talent - high intelligence test score (usually two standard deviations above the mean), and high levels of vocabulary, memory, abstract work knowledge and abstract reasoning;
specific academic aptitude or talent in one area such as mathematics or language arts;

Vocation/Technical Curriculum
Vocational and/or technical courses offered within a comprehensive school, usually a senior high school.
Special Education Classes
A school or program within a school that provides services and training to students with moderate to severe mental and/or physical disabilities.
Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
English as Second Language
English language classes for students whose first language is not English.
