... Read more student who after only four short months at the Rhodes School is reading! He navigates a computer better than most 3rd graders and his vocabulary is impressive. The Rhodes School recently took a group of students to the Presidential Inauguration and should be commended for their commitment to the arts. I cried at the Christmas program when I saw children playing the violin, drums, and keyboard, dancing, singing, and praying! This school is producing well-rounded leaders of the future. My 5 year old will start his second year at this school, and I could not be more excited! They did so much wonderful work with him, I used to pay 200.00 a month for Kumon and his learning is comparable to the Rhodes school. The teachers are very dedicated and the programs and curriculm are fun and educational.

As a father I am very concern about my kid's education. After speaking with the principle in depth, I toured the campus and sat in the classroom and I was very pleased with what I observed. So I enrolled my son. After about three weeks I noticed that my son's reading skills had improved tremendously
... Read more as well as his math comprehension skills. Now I have learned that the Rhodes School has been Recognized through TEA in it's first year, which I hear is some what difficult to achieve. Regarding some of the negative comments that I read on line; show me a school that is perfect for every kid and no problems and I will enroll my kid their tomorrow. In January 2008, I removed my 4 year old son from a daycare to The Rhodes School. After 3 weeks of enrollment, my son was able to write/spell his first and last name and was able to count from 1 to 100. In addition, he was able to write/spell 3 to 4 letter words. The Pre-K teacher was very patient
... Read more and took the time to get my son where he needed to be academically so that he could keep up with his classmates who had been enrolled in the Pre-K program since August 2007. The after-school program curriculum provides computer-based educational training modules, one-on-one tutoring with students needing additional assistance with reading, mathematical, and problem solving skills. The teachers are certified instructors and compassionate about their work. I am pleased with my son's developmental learning skills and would recommend The Rhodes School to others. Read less

... Read more according to TEA because of the test scores. Also, anytime I need to talk with the principal or someone on the staff, I don't have a problem getting them. The principal is almost always available unless she's with someone else. I always get return phone calls the next day or so. I'm really sorry this parent had such a bad experience. Most of the other parents I talk to love the school and the staff. No school is perfect, but overall, I really think this school is great! Read less

... Read more includes homework help, computer, etc. I've never seen a charter school in its first year w/all the stuff this school has. A full computer lab w/real computers, a nice, clean campus that's not in a strip center, degreed teachers and a loving enviornment that my child cries if he has to miss. Also, we're a recognized campus!!! If you have to Run.. RUN TO THE RHODES SCHOOL where the teachers are highly qualified, most are certified w/masters degrees and 100% of the staff are returning so they are stable and WANT to work there. Read less
