I looked at several private schools and NCS was by far the best choice. My kids are getting a great education and the teachers are constantly challenging them to do their best. 2007-2008 is our 5th year at Northland Christian School.The school offers all sport activities as public school would, so the students have all the perks of public school in a small Christian environment. I have not been overly impressed by this school. It has such potential but seems to be lacking in a cohesive group of administrators. The quality of teachers has been spotty and the teaching has been less than stellar. They don't teach creatively nor do they present information in a variety of styles
... Read more to accomadate children that are not auditory learners. I have found the material to be boring and overwhelming. Assignments range from the sublime to the ridiculous. Either they are simple, busy work assignments or they are assignments that are better suited for late high school or even college level kids in middle school. Northland christian was our solution to a bad public school, although, it did not solve the problems we moved our son because of the enviornment but, the school did not do anything to help our daughters academics.

In my son's graduating class more than 10% of the students qualified for the National Merit Scholarship program and the entire class of 55 received scholarship offers exceeding 6 million dollars. After three years in the public school system, my son has made a dramatic change for the better. Northland is focused on the total child development mind, body, and spirit. Excellent curriculum, sports, clubs, drama, music, etc. They have it all. We love it!

... Read more students need to do more hands on activities that allow them to understand math concepts before they do problems on paper. NCS needs to provide more problem solving activities. Event thought it is a privide school, it would benefit all of the students if NCS followed more of the NCTM standards. Read less

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. AP classes are specific and not to be confused with other higher-level classes such as honors classes.
Before/After School
"Extended day" programs where the school day is extended before and after school to accommodate working parents. These programs should not be confused with common after school clubs or athletic activities.

Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
English as Second Language
English language classes for students whose first language is not English.
