My child was two years behind. He had low self-esteem. He was placed in a mentor program at CLC MS. He has made 100% turnaround. He will be promoted in May and I plan for him to continue school in CLC HS. I thank God for his principal, his teachers, and his assigned school mentor

CLC is an excellent school for indiviuals who are trying to do something with themselves. I learned so much from brilliant teachers. Mrs.Mills, Dr.Denmon, Mrs.Jones,and Mr.White. I owe them my life and they can say whatever they want about the school. Unless, you really experienced it, you cant talk

While CLC is to the best at every thing it is a school that focuses on the present and pressing needs of the individuals that attend it. I myself am a graduate of The Contemporary Learning Center and am grateful to the Houston Independent School District and the school officials for having a facility
... Read more such as this. I was not a problem child. I fell ill in ninth grade and went to CLC to finish with my rightful graduating class. I say bravo for establishing a program that lets young mothers, former dropouts, and others move expediently through the educational process while maintaining a stable educational environment with all the benefits of a regular four-year high school. now I say thank you to all the many wonderful teachers and staff that walk the halls of C. CLC is an excellent school, yes it may have a problem but what school doesn't, CLC does not offer extra circular activates beacuse it is not a traditional school, it's an excellent school.

The extra cirricular activities at this school are few and I feel that that is doing a diservice to the kids who attend school there. Academics are also slipping and a greater effort should be made to raise them to a higher level.

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. AP classes are specific and not to be confused with other higher-level classes such as honors classes.
Before/After School

Gifted and Talented

visual and performing arts, special talents in visual art, music, dance, drama, or other related studies;
psychomotor ability, such as practical, spatial, mechanical, and physical skills.
Vocation/Technical Curriculum
Vocational and/or technical courses offered within a comprehensive school, usually a senior high school.
Special Education Classes
A school or program within a school that provides services and training to students with moderate to severe mental and/or physical disabilities.
Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
English as Second Language
English language classes for students whose first language is not English.
