Fortunately, my children are able to keep up; but, I feel their individual academic needs are just as overlooked as the students who require more attention. To compound the problem, the administration is very reluctant to address issues. My children transferred into the Lewisville ISD, and more specifically into Heritage, after spending the first half of their school careers elsewhere. I have found nothing but disappointment with the school and the district. The academic program is merely a training ground in TAKS, frustrating for myself

The extracurricular activities are virtually nonexistent, it was hard to go from a school that offered 6-7 before and after-school programs to one that offers so few and no before-school programs at all. The parent involvement is relative only socially, not academically. Since enrolling my children at this school I have encountered one problem after another. The overall quality of academic programs is very good. Most teachers are very dedicated to their students and are very willing to work with the family on any level. Heritage has been a great school for us so far; we have one child in first grade. The teachers all seem so positive, caring, truly dedicated to teaching my child. The school is very organized in every way and the principal very hands on and caring about every student. I have been very happy and satisfied.

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course.
