... Read more activities are lacking because of funds and popularity but they are great programs that do great things with the resouces the community gives them. I plan on moving back to Hawkins just so my child can attend school there instead of an intercity school. Read less

I, too, moved from a bigger city to put my children in Hawkins' schools. I also gave up a much higher paying job to work at Hawkins ISD. I could not disagree more with some of the comments here about the teachers and facilities. We are a wonderful community and school with caring, committed teachers

There is not one teacher that stands out and does an above and beyond job. There is not enough motivation to keep smart students going. The library is a joke. There needs to be better leadership, and someone may need to motivate the teachers as well.

One of my four children are in this high school. I am more than disappointed with the attitude at this school. Everyone from the principal to the teachers to the counselor have the same excuse 'it must be that the child is lazy'. Never mind that you can get no feedback from teachers or help with testing

I have asked repeatedly to know when testing dates are and what assignments are coming up....not one time in 3 years of asking can 1 teacher take the 5 minutes to email or mail me a schedule. I have repeatedly asked for help in getting my child tested for learning problems. Still nothing...the counselor stated when I went to sign it that this was all a waste of time that my child was lazy and testing him was a waste of their time. Read less

What I have to say about the school is,first of all the student body as a whole seem to be doing very well. I went to this school and will be sending my kids to this school. The only thing I think is wrong with this school district is that they always have to get a new high school principal and a new superintendent. Other than that I like the school. It really needs more teachers though.

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level.
