Harlingen high school. Well i went to this school for fresh/soph yr and i have to say that it was a experience i wont forget. Althletes do seem to run the school, but that doesnt mean they dont work hard in their acedemics. There are a few great teachers that really teach you the meaning of responsibility
... Read more and show passion towards the students as well, as for the rest, they could care less. The band, choir, and football programs are really impressive. The spirit at this school is like nothing you've ever seen. Even though there is violence, and a whole lot of different clicks, when it comes down to it, the pride of our school brings us together. As a currently enrolled student I have to say I really like this school compared to schools like Harlingen South.Most of the teachers here are really commited to passing their students but most I think are there for the money.A large chunk of the students here have problems with respect,rules,and some

Read more even with dignity.There seems to be fights,graffiti,and drugs everywhere and even the security helps in some of this but for the most part they have no control over students.If we were to exclude these people than the school would be a better place.As it is now though it is quite good.(for a school obsessed with football) Read less

As a former student I can say only a few good things about this school. The band is amazing! The sports teams are great but they seem to run the school. ... Read more coin toss as to whether you get a good teacher or not. Some teachers were great but a sad majority didn t seem to care, especially the coach/teachers. I laughed when I read the high rating for safety and discipline. It seemed like every week there was a gang fight and drugs were everywhere. The kids run all over the security guards and teachers. They have no respect for authority. Sometimes I was scared to go to school. Read less

The level of Academis programs at HHS are great. The quality of teachers are excellent. I found the level of parent envolvement to be solely concentrated on sports like football and basketball. I would rate the teachers at this school as great.

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level.
