This was our first year at Curtsinger as my son entered Kindergarten. We were so lucky and blessed to have Mrs. Rhodes. She was wonderful. My son learned so much from her. She is also a very warm and loving teacher. Her kids never questioned whether she cared or not. It was shown everyday. She
... Read more is so organized and creative. I am hoping that my daughter will get her this fall. At the end of school all the kids got a picture with her and sweet little sayings. Curriculum and teaching quality is overall good but not exceptional. The overall approach can be improved. This school is well suited for slightly above average kids but a high energy gifted kid gets stifled because of the norms, traditions and protocol. The administration & teachers need to have a more

My child has attended since K and has had very little trouble but...I am very disappointed in the new principle. She has her heart in the right place I hope but..she is a micro-micro manager. She wants anything and everything to go through her. Letters to parents and teachers even if she approved them
... Read more from last year. She will only answer the phone on speakerphone and to me that is unprofessional and very uncomfortable. She has changed the whole atmosphere of the school. As a parent I find it very difficult to volunteer for anything with out her 'laying down the law' in the meetings to what brands of food they can have for parties due to a contract they have with a food company or what presents we can give to the teachers. I really miss our old principle with her happy go lucky personality. Read less

My child has attended this school for many yeara. Academic programs are great, teachers are great and very attentive. New assistant principal lacks alot of experience and should go back to teaching.

The school has an excellent staff of teachers, administrators with excellent parental involvement. The school activities range from book fairs, music shows and family nights outside of school. It is a great school and my son is in fourth grade.

I love this school. After a completely unsuccessful school year at Barksdale Elementary in Plano and many pleas to have my daughter tested for dyslexia, I finally did so myself. I brought her to Scottish Rite Hospital and just as I thought, she was diagnosed as dyslexic and dysgraphic. The education
... Read more of my child is too important to leave her with a Principal that it too concerned with outward appearances and budget dollars to help a struggling learner in need. I found the absolute polar opposite at Curtsinger Elementary. My daughter is thriving! And reading! The teachers are amazing and compassionate! The are equipped to handle differences with compassion and expertise. There are not words enough to express the gratitude that I feel for the administration, and entire staff of this school. Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level.
