... Read more The education opportunities are quite limited. There is only one foreign language (Spanish), no serious music program, and there are only two real electives (Ag and Home Economics). This is understandable as the school is very small. That being said, if a student has the desire to become a great student, the school is not a hindrance. I got to know the staff very well in only a few years there, and most of them have the desire to see the students succeed. Drugs are a huge problem; this is changing. Read less

Yes its quite, an so long as you let the school treat your kid however they see fit, every thing stays quite. But if you try to have a voice they will take it out on your kid. This school is a good school, Cumby is a quiet place and is relaxed. The education here at Cumby is great as long as kids will do the work they will recieve the grade.

The Cumby ISD is small which allows more one on one with the child and teacher. I have had three children graduate from Cumby ISD, all have went on to college and earned degrees. There is absolutely nothing wrong with smaller schools. It is up to the parents to encourage a child to excel intimately,

My children have never lacked morals or self-esteem nor have any of their class mates-and I feel my children were properly prepared for entering college by this school district! Thank you. I've had two chidren graduate from here. It's a good small school but offers very little. There is low moral and self-esteem among the children. ... Read more small community. Located in hopkins county, cumby isd is a 'safe' place to raise kids. Relativly free from drugs and crime. The teachers are well intentioned but lack the resources to do their job. Scholarships are almost non existant. Usally ranging from $500 to $1000 and only a couple of them. The administration changes hands every couple of years,most of the time resigning due to the outcry of the community. This is not a good report but with over 12 years with children in this school i feel obligated to tell you the truth. Read less

Advanced Placement
