My daughter went to Deer Creek from k-6th grade and my son has gone from K-present (2nd grade) Until this year things have been really good. After talking with several teachers, I feel their morale is slipping from the pressure of the TAKS test. They still enjoy the children, but feel they are not

Deer Creek Elementary is a great place to learn. The faculy is caring and compassionate. The teachers make learning fun. In kindergarten , the students learn to read with confidence. The staff welcomes parents at the school. There are many volunteer opportunites. If a student is behind in reading,

Deer Creek teachers for the most part go the extra mile for the students. They attend soccer , baseball games and birthday parties of their students. They don't mind talking to parents at restaurants and grocery stores. I even had a teacher come to the house and hand deliver an important paper. The teachers
... Read more are extraordernary. The office staff is severely lacking in the area of friendly service. They don't even want to be bothered to relay a message. Teachers have been asked to do several secretarial jobs even though a third person and aides were hired to help. Office staff will not work a minute over their work time and teachers have been seen at school on their own time up till 10:00 at night. Teachers at Deer Creek are respected by students and parents because they prove by attitude and deeds that they are here for the kids! Read less

Now, you feel like you are an unwelcome guest and they make it very clear you are not wanted here! They had tables for rewarding children at lunch and they took them away because parents were coming
... Read more to eat with their kids. There really was no place at the kids table because they have assigned seats. The office staff act like you are bothering them and make it clear they would rather keep chatting than assist you. One lady is pretty helpful her name is Patrice. The others have personal things to do and act like they are the principal. The principal when she is there is not very welcoming to parents either. The teachers however, are the best! Read less

Advanced Placement

Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
English as Second Language
