I have one child in the ISC special ed program (2nd grade) and am extremely happy with the progress he has made. My daughter is in a monolingual 3rd grade class and is doing very well. The only prob I have is there are only 2 monolingual classes to chose from in ea. grade level and the english only students

I am overall happy with this school but could see improvement in the extracurricular activities such as sports and also the parent involvement is low and I feel it is that way because of the attitude of some of the teachers making parents feel as if they are not wanted or needed to help out. My child has attended Bill Childress elementary for 3 years and I have had nothing but problems with the teachers and the administrative staff. My child has been in the dual language program and the teachers have proved that they just aren't qualified for the job. I have had several talks with the
... Read more teacher and principal and apparently there has not been any improvements. For example I went to talk to the principal concerning pulling my child out of dual language and instead of addressing me with her opinion she was addressing a friend that accompanied me. I would ask her to please address me and again she ignored. She was to busy defending her staff to be able to listen to my complaints. I have come to the point were I am considering of removing my child not only from Bill Childress but from the entire CISD. Read less

My children have attended Bill Childress since it opened. I feel it is the best school in the Canutillo School District. The Administrators are fantastic and always willing to help you in anything you need and the teachers are the best in the state of Texas and the Unites States.

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
