I have 3 children who attended BSHS. All three have done wonderfully in college. In HS, they participated in many extra curriculuar activites and took advantage of the conncurrent and AP classes offered. They all went to college with 24 hours of credit. Overall, I thnk they were well prepared for

I graduated from this school a few years ago, have a sibling enrolled and things have not changed much. More money on sports, less towards the academic departments. Your teens will not get anything out of this high school unless they decide to take vocational courses or dual credit courses at the local
... Read more community college their jr/sr year. I believe you should make the best with what you got but there isn't much to work with here. In fact the whole town is set on 'mediocrity'. I had a good childhood, wonderful friends and family in Big Spring but the whole place seems to be run by the wrong people. Read less

Big Spring High School is a good 4 A school. BSHS has much to offer students through organizations, AP or Pre-AP Classes and enthusiastic staff.

Big Spring High School is mostly for the teens activities and not for the teens acedemics. It's ratings statewide are in the low 50 percentile and it's ratings nationwide are in the high 20 percentile. Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. Before/After School

Vocation/Technical Curriculum
Vocational and/or technical courses offered within a comprehensive school, usually a senior high school.
Special Education Classes
A school or program within a school that provides services and training to students with moderate to severe mental and/or physical disabilities.
Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
English as Second Language
English language classes for students whose first language is not English.
