I am so thankful that my kids are part of such a great school! I have loved all the teachers that my kids have had and am so impressed with the administration. It is a safe and wholesome environment for my kids to learn and begin their schooling. I would not want them to be anywhere else!

My children (1,3,5) grade abruptly transferred to this school last year. The level of learning was much higher compared to their previous school (also in this same district). Suddenly, they were learning something. The staff has been fantastic. My 1st grader has some unique needs and his teacher
... Read more has been absolutely awesome about keeping in contact with us and addressing our concerns, but mostly keeping him engaged and excited about going to school. Last year, he'd have done anything NOT to go to his old school. All the kids are thriving and learning every day!! Our son started Kindergarten at Lakewood Elementary in Fall of 2007. He loves it. His teacher is very engaging and truly cares about each student. Principal, Assistant Principal and all teachers I have met made a great impression on me.

My son transferred into Lakewood this year, and it is like a breath of fresh air compared to last year's KISD School. My son jumps out of bed ready to go to school each day. He has so much fun at school he does not even realize he is learning. He complains on the weekends because he misses his teacher.

Lakewood Elementary has provided my children, (kindergarten, 3rd and 5th grades) many opportunities to be successful citizens. The teachers are dedicated to preparing their students for the next academic level. They warmly receive each student with unconditional appreciation and the students learn

The teachers, principal, and vice-principal promptly return our calls and make time even at short notice to address our concerns. Two of our three children have struggled with learning difficulties even though they usually maintain A's and B's. They have both been treated with kindness, concern, respect and acceptance by all their educators. Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level.
