We have been pleased with Westview Middle School. Our son takes primarily pre-ap classes. Mr. Ward, principal, is in charge, positive, and shows endless energy. Westview has had its ups and downs but it is definitely UPS right now. The Administration should be commended on their positive attitudes and morale. Thanks to Mr. Ward for being so conscientious. Westview MS has made tremendous, positive changes in just one year. Our new principal, Mr. Ward and his revived staff have made changes and it shows. For students who want to do good in school westview it great. The teachers really try to help you and make you better. Westview just seems bad because most of the students really don't care about what they will do in the future. They make westview seem really bad.

* In 2010-2011, the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) was used to test students in reading in grades 3 through 9; in writing in grades 4 and 7; in English language arts in grades 10 and 11; in mathematics in grades 3 through 11; in science in grades 5, 8, 10 and 11; and in social studies in grades 8, 10 and 11. TAKS is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Texas. The grade 11 Exit Level TAKS is a high school graduation requirement. The goal is for all students to score at or above the state standard.
