It is unfortunate that a TAKS rating is supposed to reveal the teaching at this school. Nichols teachers go the extra mile for every student. The recent TAKS failure and the increase in gang activity make this school an embarrassment to North Arlington. Too much police & discipline action to have any focus on academics. Really hope it improves soon!

My son has gone to both 7th and 8th grade at Nichols. The teachers there are great they really care about the students doing well. The Band teachers are really good. My son has really enjoyed the Gateway to technology class. He is also in all Honor classes and the school has done so much for his self

I went to Nichols Jr. High from 2004-2006 it was ok. The teachers were pretty good there but the vice principles was a little rude. Nichols jr. High is a great school. It is tah and tah grade and has great programs. Such as gateway to technology where the students learn more about technology. Also we have clubs such as art, math, and drama. Oslo choir, band, and orchestra. Also we have one of the best choirs in the district. I know

Their comments about their schools have included, it's great to be accepted, it's nice to be around kids who want to learn, it's great to have teachers who care, and MOM! My school ROCKS! My son is in wrestling and theater arts in addition to his academics, and my daughter's face lit up when she found she could be in drama and choir. Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level.
