This school has good and bad qualities like all schools. They teach conflict resolution which is good for kids. They emphasize community service and diversity which i like. At TMA there is not much communication from the teachers to the parents unless it is parent initiated. There seem to be better

This review only pertains to 18mo-kindergarten classes. TMA is an OK school. The head of the school is always nice. Most of the teachers are very nice as well. Most of the time you are greated with a 'hello' but not always. The concept at Montessori is to teach independence which is good. They

Sometimes too much independence can be a bad thing b/c 5-6yr olds may not always make the right decisions for school work and need structure. The teachers are not as nurturing as other places ive been. You have to pay extra for lunches, before and after care past the hours of 8:30-3:30, teacher work days etc.. This is b/c they follow the arlington isd calendar. For kids below kindergarten you pay extra that you wouldnt pay at typical daycare. Read less

As an outcome of the public and parochial school systems of my youth, I had never been exposed to a Montessori (philosophy or method) education. My sons' experience with TMA -- the teachers, the education and the community -- has well exceeded my initial expectations. Exposing the child to collaborative

Read more work in a classroom environment of multiple age/ability levels and working with the child to set/achieve their educational goals is a remarkable way to build a happier, healthier, more confident, educated child. If you haven't checked out a Montessori program and/or have questions on what it's all about -- TMA offers a great opportunity to expose and immerse yourself in (my estimation) one of the best long-term educational foundations you could ever provide for your child.
