Burgin is a culturally diverse school with staff members that value individual students, their interests, cultural differences, and academic abilities. The lack of a PTA hinders the connection between parents and teachers; however, the Family Involvement Liaison is awesome

Burgin is a really good school and my child really enjoys going there. However I would love for there to me more parent involvement. There is no kind of involvment as fas as a PTA. Pretty much all of the schools had a christmas program for the kindergarten classes,but they did not at Burgin :( I need

I am proud to send my childrent to Burgin. Two have graduated and will start college next year...I have been with the school since it opened in 1999. Burgin elementary is not a very child friendly school (or adult friendly). My kid did come with a record of being jumpy but they had him pegged even before the first day. we left the 2nd week to remynse which has worked great 4 him and the school.

My children attended Dunn for 2 years and the oldest is autistic. I feel very lucky to have had such a wonderful experience as I have heard some horror stories from parents of autistic children in public schools. My child was able to stay in the regular classroom and did just as well as the other children!
... Read more The teachers and counslers were amazing and I fully credit them for his success! They truly bonded with my kids and I was soo sad to have to leave! But I can tell you if they don't like their new school we will be happy to go back to Burgin no matter how far I have to drive! Read less

As the parent of a special needs child in special education I can say this is not the school you want your child to attend. The staff was less than cooperative when it came to anything other than the 'typical' student.

Burgin is one of the best schools my children have attended. The principal is great, she helped me encourage my daughter that it was ok to miss mommy and she would be just fine in school. The counselor has helped me also with the issues I have with my children (Twins 8). The Second grade team is awesome.

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level.
