... Read more wonderful things to say. I have so much respect for the principal who has been at this campus for 18 years. The students come first always and she hires only the best teachers. The lady who rated the school so poorly must be delusional because this is the greatest school in Amarillo and perhaps in Texas. We love Sleepy Hollow and recommend this school - your children will have an excellent start and be very prepared for secondary education!! Awful school. Do not send your children here! The principal is terrible. Teachers are not nice to students. Kids are snobs and don't let new kids into their 'groups'. Do not, I repeat, do not enroll your kids at this school. Just a terrible experience with this school, took my kids out after 3 months.

All they care about is winning Awards for the school. Not your child. If Academics means passing the TAKS test to you than this is the right school for you. Kids get health & art grades but no art or health teacher. Extracurricular activities are juggling & jumprope which is by tryouts only! Our

Sleepy Hollow has been nominated for a National Blue Ribbon by the state of Texas and submitted to the U. S. Department of Education. It is currently under consideration. Sleepy Hollow will be award this prestigious award fall of 2006.

Sleepy Hollow is a school that puts the teachers first. The academic program is designed to make the children pass the TAKS test to make themselves look good. The school does not sponser sports or extracurricular activities.

No art teacher. Apathetic principal. PTA is ineffective,arrogant and apathetic. No true leadership. All teaching after 3rd grade is geared to TAKS. Puts high stress level on kids to make school look good.

Great school - nice neighborhood location within walking distance to many homes. Principal and staff know almost every student by name. Very active school with a lot going on - good, strong PTA with ambitious projects. High parental involvement in the every day activities of school - which is encouraged

I still have occasion to visit Sleepy Hollow regularly, even though my children have moved on. The students safety is a high priority to the faculty and staff. Great care and concern are given to each child. They attend a school that is neat and clean and are taught to respect their surroundings. I am thankful that my boys received their elementary education at Sleepy Hollow Elementary. I would highly recommend this school to everyone. Read less

Advanced Placement
