Read what parents are saying about St. Benedict at AuburndaleUnfortunately, in my opinion, the experience is not worth the tuition - even when reduced. We were recruited to play sports. After we switched, we found out playing time was political and lots of drama. We are withdrawing at the end of the year and going back to her friends.
Posted by a parent on 4/10/2023Inexperienced teachers and lack of any leadership at this school really starting to show. I removed my child from this school after school leaders showed not moral compass and lack of care for the students. Stay away.
Posted by a parent on 12/1/2022Overall experience was terrible, Principle should be ashamed of her actions, and the policies she has created. Be advised.
Posted by a parent on 6/27/2022I have a Freshman at this school. I cannot be happier. My child is on the Principal's Honor role with Honors classes. As a side note, SFA - Saint Francis of Asissi is great for preparing kids for St. Benedict.
Posted by a parent on 1/20/2015I graduated class of 2012 and I couldn't have been happier with the education I received there. Yes, some teachers are worthless, but you can't find a high school in America where there aren't a few bad eggs. I see some people said they didn't have homework...well they were either ignoring the homework or taking the lightest course load possible. I took honors classes and a couple AP's my senior year and had at least 2 hours of homework every night. My junior year I had a minimum of 3. SBA has so many great things to get involved in and the support the student body has for each other is incredible. I know I have made friends for life. At the time, I didn't think I was receiving an amazing education, but as soon as I came to college, I realized just how blessed I was to go to such a great school. Many of my classmates could not even write a simple paper in the MLA format, something I knew like the back of my hand when I left SBA. Similarly, my classmates also seemed to succumb to the pressure of the "workload." For me, their claims seemed preposterous. I give all the credit to SBA for my success in college. My only critique would be for better teachers in the math department.

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe school is, on the whole, a good experience. The campus is beautiful and open, and the school has something for everyone. After school clubs and sports help students to be more well rounded and focus on their interests, while classes in school hammer down fundamentals of their class. However, it does suffer from a few problems, specifically in academics. It can feel at times like athletics are almost a priority, while academics sit on the backburner in most situations. As a middle schooler in honors classes, some classes haven’t been a challenge for me, even some of the honors classes. That isn’t to say that they’ve been easy, and I’ve been able to breeze past every class, but some specific classes don’t feel like they are giving an adequate amount of instruction for the grade level. Some positives are in the academics, such as the rotating schedule, which may be hard to grasp at first. However, it does help to combat feelings of repetition by changing the order of classes every day. The teachers seem to care about their work, and teachers help students that may be lost in the material and/or confused. No one should fail a class unless they are not putting in effort to the class. The headmaster, Braxton Brady, is the best headmaster I could ask for. He continually prioritizes the students wellbeing while still making sure that they are achieving in school. However, the school has continually proven to be run “loosely.” (Mr. Brady excluded) Events and important dates are constantly changing, and it can be hard to know what is happening at school, especially for parents. The school has no problem of serious bullying, and everyone will find at least one friend. There is no problem of physical violence if students act with more than one brain cell, and continued physical violence has not happened whatsoever in school. No teacher will ever turn a blind eye to bullying if they are aware that it is happening. I may have focused on the negatives, but that isn’t to say that the school is in shambles. I would recommend it to anyone whose children might be an average kid. It has plenty of opportunities outside of the base curriculum, and it helps students find and stoke their interests. 4/5Student Review9mo ago - St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School
