while child adores teacher, i feel the adminstrative staff lacks in parental involvement.... more than once i have had to hear news from my child while i would have thought a note home would have been more appropriate. no news is not always good news.

and welcome parent involvement, but yet have no active PTA. They do have a PTO. They lack organization. But they are on level with academics, and offer boy's and girl's basketball and cheerleading. Other programs may be available to a choice few, but not widely known. Don't expect much in the line of communication from most teachers. Read less

their previous school. Sometimes notes sent to school to teachers went un-answered. Since both kids are honor roll students, I may not have the best insight into the teachers' ability to work with kids that need extra help. However, the teachers we dealt with were very attentive to the problem of bullies - which is a plus. Read less

* In 2006-2007 Tennessee used the Tennessee Comprehensive Assessment Program (TCAP) Achievement Test to test students in grades 3 through 8 in reading/language arts, math, science and social studies, and in grades 5 and 8 in writing. Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. AP classes are specific and not to be confused with other higher-level classes such as honors classes.
Before/After School

Gifted and Talented

- leadership ability, the ability to direct individuals or groups to a common decision or action;
- visual and performing arts, special talents in visual art, music, dance, drama, or other related studies;
- psychomotor ability, such as practical, spatial, mechanical, and physical skills.
Vocation/Technical Curriculum
Vocational and/or technical courses offered within a comprehensive school, usually a senior high school.
Special Education Classes
A school or program within a school that provides services and training to students with moderate to severe mental and/or physical disabilities.
Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
English as Second Language
English language classes for students whose first language is not English.
