... Read more happy with my decision. I will admit that athletes and others get special treatment; however, they only receive this treatment from certain teachers and it is by far only a few. Their honors programs are excellent, I myself, am an honor student and the honors classes have challenged and prepared me for college. They offer many high level courses, which I opted to take, and they are taught very thoroughly. I could not dream of a better school to be a student of, or graduate of. I love South Greene High. I graduated from South Greene a few years ago. Also, I had a brother who also graduated from there. My brother and I did not like going to school there. When we were at SGHS, the students who played sports or who their parents worked there recieved special treatment. Also, the school was lacking in several
... Read more programs, such as ROTC and honors programs, that some of the other high schools in the area offered. I did not enjoy my high school experience at all at SGHS and my brother did not either. I was an honor student and I feel like the lack of programs offered at SGHS hindered me from recieving help for college and the armed forces. Read less

I just currently left South Greene to move to Lousisana, and I must say that South Greene is one of the best schools I have ever been in. They have wonderful teachers and a very caring principal. They also have a top sports program. Parents are very invloved in the school and support the sports programs

* In 2005-2006 Tennessee used the Gateway to test high school students in reading/language arts, math and science. The results for reading/language arts and math are displayed on GreatSchools profiles. The Gateway is a high school graduation requirement. The Gateway is a standards-based test, which means that it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined by the state of Tennessee. The goal is for all students to score at or above the proficient level.

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
