This school is accelerating in every area compared to several years ago. I am a new teacher here, but I also graduated from here in 1991. The teachers are highly qualified. The academic programs are of good variety. There is a wonderful music program, but would like to see more art come through. Extracurricular activities are well rounded for the teenagers. Need more parent involvement.

My son is a senior at this school and after taking honors classes and dual enrollment classes, I can only pray that he will actually be prepared for college level work. My son attends Rhea County High School. I was a little afraid he wouldn't like it because it is bigger than the other school he went to but he loves it. * In 2007-2008 Tennessee used the Gateway/End-of-Course (EOC) exams to test high school students in language arts, math, science and social studies upon completion of relevant courses. The results for algebra I and English 2 are displayed on GreatSchool profiles. The scores reflect the performance of students enrolled for the full academic year. Students must pass the algebra I, English 2 and biology I tests, called the Gateway exams, in order to graduate. The Gateway/EOC exams are standards-based tests that measure how well students are mastering specific skills defined by the state of Tennessee. The goal is for all students to score at or above the proficient level.
