I have a child that just graduated from JCHS and I have a upcoming Sophmore. The school is simply too over crowded. Not enough emphasis is placed on learning. Students leave school without the needed skills to manage life in the real world. If someone were to ask me if I would recommend JCHS ...  Read more

I love our school! Our students are wonderful. Of course there are a few boogers, but that's life. Overall, this is the best place to be.

I go to JCHS. I am a sophmore. I think that there is too many people that go to Jefferson County High at one time. The teachers are great, but sometimes, I believe that there is not enough teacher involvement in the lives of their students. If one wants to teach a student, one must know the student.

2,300+ students housed in a building that was designed for half that number or less. That makes for cramped and uncomfortable quarters in which students sit for roughly 7 hours per day. That is not a learning environment. Watch students try to get to the cafeteria in one of the four lunch groups ...  Read more

JCHS is the worste school in the world. I'm currently a junior there and it is terrible. Very few teachers care about their students. Some are there just to get money. All of the teachers that I have had up to this point, 90% of them were mean, unfair, and spiteful. The work is too hard and they put ...  Read more

I moved from Texas to this school my sophomore year and was very disappointed in the school system. The high school was very overcrowded and there wasnt enough encouragement from teachers and faculty to be prepared for college. I did not feel prepared to enter college when I graduated. The school nutrition ...  Read more

As a parent, the education is decent, but more focus on the arts is need and less on the sports. My biggest problem is the portable buildings. As much taxes as we pay here in the name of the school, why are they buying trailers? Then there is lunch, my kids say the lines are so long they don't get to ...  Read more

I am a student at JCHS and I don't think that the school is that bad. I think they do need to get better teachers (and retire a few), but I don't think that its the worst school around.

I don't think that Jefferson County. High was a very educational place to be, speaking as an attending junior. I have went to the high school for 1 and a half years. The student ratio is off, the sports program is definitely notsciplined, the curricular is continuously cut, et cetera. I wouldn't send ...  Read more

This school claims to be college preparatory, but upon entering college I discovered that I just didn't have the same knowledge base that others did. Some college friends of mine attended hideously under-funded inner city schools, yet they received a better high school education. JCHS was more like a ...  Read more
