18 Parent Reviews for Gibbs High School

Teachers not really into teaching, students not into challenging themselves, many of the boys must want to be in WCW since they love to fight. No real effort by students to get out of the same Gibbs label: education not all that important.

Gibbs used to be a great school. Recent poor leadership has left the school with very little discipline and low teacher morale. The new principal seems to lack a personality that is conducive to being a good leader. Teachers are very caring but seem frustrated.

Gibbs used to be an outstanding school in both academics and athletics. Since the retirement of Mr. Taylor, the school has gone straight down hill. Discipline is just about nonexistent and teachers are really depressed. What happened to strong administrators? We need one again!

totally agree with a few of the other reviews... gibbs sure was a disapointment for me too. i just knew if my child survived middle school at holston that gibbs would be 'home' again but not the case.. some of the teachers are for sure in diar need for training. some act so imature that its hard to say ...  Read more

I graduated from Gibbs in 2007. I loved the school. The school has good students and teachers. Just like every school there are a few students and teachers that are not so good. If you want your child to learn, make them take higher classes because that will make them better for college.

Gibbs High School is a pretty good school although students and parents are more apathetic than they used to be. There is not much drive among the student body to excel, but the kids are pretty good kids. A student can receive an outstanding education at Gibbs if he takes the hardest classes and gets ...  Read more

I am very disappointed in the quality of most of the teachers at Gibbs. I can't believe how unprofessional some have been... They do not seem to care if the child suceeds or not!!!! Some of the teachers need to attend some child psyc. classes and realize what influence they have with our children...It's ...  Read more

I graduated from Gibbs High school in 2006, I love the school because the teachers are involved with the students. They go out of there way to make sure each student understands what is going on the class so everyone is on the same page. There were only a couple things that bothered me within the 4 ...  Read more

I was a graduate of the 2001 class. I was pleased to be apart of this school. While I was there violence was minimal. Kids are very family, and religion oriented. Fairview Baptist Church is a large part of the school for a good reason to teach a better way of life, not to force you into the religion. ...  Read more
