My sons response to reviewing phonics was 'um are you kidding me' and my other child in a different grade is reviewing addition when the multiplication table has already been drilled home. I had three kids in Beech Hill last year, two will be attending this year. I am so impressed with this school - the teachers are awesome - all of the teachers I've encountered have been filled with enthusiam and seem to genuinely care for all the kids. ... Read more is amazing - she is constantly searching for new and innovative programs for the school - has an energy level that few can surpass, and the kids adore her. My daughter, after completing kindergarten, reads at a second grade level. My oldest daughter, now entering middle school, is in the GATE program, and my son has been on the A/B honor roll throughout - they have abilities that Beech Hill has skillfully fostered. There are many things that we love Beech Hill Elementary School. It is a clean, safe, warm environment with clear educational goals. My son is thriving there academically. I do feel that they have lost their way recently. The growth of the school has forced some bad decisions with regard to lunch

We recently moved from an 'A' school in Ohio to Beech Hill Elementary. Beech Hill blows the Ohio school away. My son's teacher is involved. I know what my child is learning every day in school. The school is great with security. At no time can an adult enter the school. I feel secure when my son is there
... Read more and also know he is learning a lot. This is an excellent academic and secure school. When we moved here, finding a great school was the number one priority. The principal holds monthly meetings with parents to hear concerns, we get monthly newsletters, and daily reports from the teacher! I am so happy we chose Beech Hill Elementary! Read less

Beech Hill is a solid school in all areas. The children are definitely a top priority for the administrators, teachers, even cafeteria and maintenance personel. There are numerous opportunities for parent involvement and it is encouraged at every turn by the strong PTA and the caring teachers and administration.
... Read more As an involved parent, I have gone to teachers and administrators with various concerns and have been pleased with the sincere response and the resolutions. BHES is a rather large elementary school, but makes every attempt to involve parents, and be available to those who have ideas or concerns. Yes, the school is attractive and volunteers spend many hours keeping it that way! Yes, the PTA has fundraisers. The money is spent according to need and priorities selected by surveying the membership at large. Immense improvements in safety, technology, curriculum, and materials have been made possible as a result! Read less

I want to take a minute to applaud Beech Hill on their safety and discipline. I am a Substitute Teacher for all DD2 elementary schools and let me tell you Beech Hill I have found to be the best by far. There is someone at every door and they follow every rule. ... Read more and she loves it. Anyone who has anything negative to say about any school truly needs to volunteer for a whole day to truly appriciate any principal or teacher. The schools are always in need of help. We as parents some times forget that the school is there to educate our children, not raise them. We as parents must be actively involved for our children to truly be the best they can be. The principals are always involved in everything that the students participate in. Beech Hill Elementary has been an extraordinary experience for our children and for us as parents. The school climate is such a positive one. ... Read more we have had many questions along the way and the administration's doors have always been open! Parent volunteers are welcomed with open arms and when in the school you see very happy, calm children, will often find classical music playing in classrooms throughout the building, children are actively engaged in learning, and this year 'Teddy' a small dog began visiting on Fridays to read with the children. To see the looks on the students faces when they are reading with Teddy will warm your heart. Hats off to Mrs. W. and Mrs. T. and the teachers at BHES! Read less

Advanced Placement
