I am also a new parent and I agree with that last review. But I am not sure if that is just here in Pawleys. Parents everywhere need to encourage their kids to accept new kids. We never in a million years thought we'd ever have to move but here we are and it's been a huge adjustment. Thank goodness

I am a parent of a student that has nothing but trouble with the students at Waccamaw High School since moving here. If you did not grown up in the area, you will not find it a very welcoming place, you will have to work hard to find your place at this school. The teachers and administration have been

I am an 07 graduate of WHS, and now at School in Virginia. Waccamaw gave me excellent preparation for college above and beyond simply schools in SC. Most teachers, some especially, take immense pride in their jobs, and do a great job. And as far as community is concerned, Waccamaw High is moreinvolved

I am a parent of a 9th grader at this school. Wow, the administration is the best I have seen. It is refreshing to see teachers who care about their students and an administration that is concerned about providing a top notch academic experience for each pupil. So far I'm impressed. Great job Waccamaw

I am not a parent, but a current student at Waccamaw High. The administration at this school (excluding Mr. Hughes because he is truly incredible) is ridiculous- no one truly takes pride in the school and the cleanliness of the visible hallways unless someone from the district or school board is visiting.
... Read more Waccamaw has honors programs, yes, but nothing that would look too stunning when looked at along side of most other schools. Waccamaw is extremely limited in its extracurricular activies and classes. For a basic education that a student would have no interest in furthering, Waccamaw is key. But for those who wish to have a future, they are simply trapped within the boundaries of a limited education. Read less

I am not a parent, but I am a student who graduated from WHS. I feel it was a great school with wonderful teachers. In rebuttal to the previous review, I was an honors student, who took HONORS classes. WHS is the best school in the area for advanced classes. I also took two PACE courses through Waccamaw:
