I attended the old Willington Academy years ago which became part of the schools that combined to form the school of today. My son graduated from OP and has always excelled in any topic he chooses to study.( now getting ready to obtain his third degree). I do feel they are the best in this town.

Orangeburg Prep offers enrichment classes,(art,music,guidance,foreign languages,library). so to finish, I am really happy with this school and I will leave my child there because the alternative schools are not close to the quality of Orangeburg Preparatory schools. like I said before tuition is high but that is the price for Quality. This school will dollar you to death, not to mention they increased tuition for 07-08. However, their SAT Scores are above the National & State Average. My child is attending OP for the first time this year and I can say she is happy, but I am not. The school seems to put more focus on Money than on the quality of education. The scores they send home on paper are above the public school scores and I would still recommend the school over certain Orangeburg

Education in past years was excellent but OP has lost quality teachers because of poor support and lack of character from the board and headmaster. The education now is mediocre but I supplement at home. Most troubling is the role models available. I have three children there. We were tolerating

My child has attended OPS for several years. My child is a minority student and treated as a minority. There is no leadership from principal to teacher. Students are not encouraged to think for themselves. They are told what they should know. Children lack communication skills and self esteem. The school

Unfortunately OPS is the only private school in the city. As parents we have been very shocked at this school in all aspects. As a parent of 3 kids at this school ranging from the high school to first grade I feel extremely qualified to give my recommendation and it's a very good one. The lower campus is a nurturing and caring environment. The vibe is very positive, the kids are happy and challenge. I love the whole process.
... Read more Its interesting to see where my kids are in comparison with other children of the same age, cousins, etc. It is always a favorable comparison. When the kids move from the middle school into the upper school the intensity begins to increase and the focus changes to college preparation. It is more challenging, however the curriculm is broad and with good study habits it is not overbearing. Overall I have been extremely satisfied with the entire experience. Athletics have also been enjoyable, great teambuilding from great coaches. I am a fan. Read less

Read more children in this public district who test below average in basic skills for his grade level (It averages about 40%) Since day one he has received constant praise and support with discipline as needed in a kind and thoughtful manner. Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level.
