i did find that children with special needs and 504 plans did not get the help that they needed i had to pull my child from the school to get the help she needed there communication in this area was poor and they did not support me as a parent very well

This is my senior year at DHS. All in all the school is pretty okay. The one thing that needs work is discipline. If I had the chance to go to any high school, it would be Darlington High. Darlington has everything a high school needs. Great athletics, good teachers, and a nice environment. ~Yvette~

Darlington High is what you make it. No need to bash teachers and behavior. The school is wonderful and I enjoyed all my years there. I wouldn't trade those years away for a million dollars (of course I am telling a big one) but seriously principals can't be babysitters and home training helps. So stay

Darlington High is a very good school i feel that if the kids take there time to learn and have 100% participation then the grades would be higher. I just graduated in May 2004 I was at DHS for 4 years and if my grades was low it was my fault and I needed to study more. DHS can be a better place if the

I give Darlington High School the lowest rating I can! This school has really gone downhill. I had one son to graduate in 2002 and I have another son that is a Sophomore there. There is so much predjudism in this school. This school has two sets of rules when only one set is required. There is a no cell

The school has the potential to be better. Last year my son was a freshman at Darlington High and he had one teacher which was his math teacher (Gina) that truly showed that she had my son's best interst at hand. She kept us informed of success's as well as failures. Gina did everthing as a teacher
... Read more to make sure that my son was successful. It's great to have a teacher to support and encourage a child the way she did. Other than my previous comment my experience with Darlington High has been one that has left a sour taste in my mouth. The teachers did not keep me informed of my son's success or failures even after I had made phone calls and sent letters to school with my child along with personal visits. My husband and I were informed at Interim Report time or Report Card time. A child's success depends on the teacher, parent and child. All must work together as a team for the good of the child. In my experience when meeting face to face with teacher's to address issues and/or concerns I found that I got round about answers or they didn't have any. The school system doesn't have enough buses and or drivers to provide transportation to the children that go to different schools. Jr High students ride the bus with High School students. This in itself is asking for problems. Read less

I am a student at DHS and I see more issues with full classrooms than anything. The status for number of students per teacher was 12.1 and all 4 of my classes have NO LESS than 20 people. I believe this makes it harder for the students to learn in a quiet enviroment. All in all, the school has good
... Read more teachers, sports, and principles. We just need more of the sports and teachers. Not all students play basketball and football--there is also tennis, soccer, golf, and so many more. We need to get teachers involved in the sports too. Read less

I went there several years ago and it was wonderful. My children go there now. The teachers don't give enough help to the students when needed and the only concern they seem to have is what the students are wearing. There just isn't any type of organization there. Advanced Placement
