I am very proud to have my children attend Tiogue School. I have three children that have attended the school from K-6 grade. Two are very good students and one has issues with ADHD. I find the attention paid to both situations very comforting. The teachers are very involved in making your child
... Read more a success. They offer suggestions and listen to your concerns and request. They are always willing to listen to your childs issues and try to strenghthen them. They are available during the day and many in the evening via phone calls to their homes. I could not imagine a better school, academically or socially, better than Tiogue. Keep up the great work! I have a mixed review. Some of the teachers are excellent. They are well trained and care about their students. Others however, provide meaningless activities i.e. coloring, word searches, too often. I believe it is the principal's responsibility to ensure the all students recieve the same high level

I like some things about my childs elementary school. I know that Tiogue is a blue ribbon school and I thinks thats great, but I feel that the school only cares about the students that can contribute to that with high test scores. to me the school seems to forget about the ones who need a little more
... Read more help in certain areas. I also know for a fact from personal experience that some teachers don't want to help the ones who need that extra help. Most don't have the patients and when someone approaches the principal about their concerns, she doesn't seem to care. Defend the teacher and forget about the student who needs help so if you want to put your child in a blue ribbon school check to see if your student my be left behind. Read less

Great school! I disagree about the coldness. I feel as though we were greeted very warmly by all. I feel the teachers and staff actually care about their students. They also expect involvment from parents, which is a plus!

* In 2006-2007 Rhode Island used the New England Common Assessment Program (NECAP) to test students in grades 3 through 8 in reading and math and in grades 5 and 8 in writing. Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course.
