I went to Doyle for all of my life. While there, I made incredible friends. While there is no cafeteria, and the new grading proccess is 'unique' this school provided me with the essential tools I needed. In my algebra 1 honors class, I am exceeding in, because of the foundation layed by FJVD. The same

There is a warmth about this school that makes you feel welcome. Doors are always locked from the outside only. This school feels safe. The students learn strict disciplined study habits that they will carry with them. The teachers are dedicated and expect a lot from the students, and get it! Lots of
... Read more tests and homework. No doubt the teachers and administration truly care about the students. Most students move on to the high school of choice. Strong academic expectations. Gatherings at Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter. It is true, they need a lunch room, however it is the smallest of trade for all this school gives back. Read less

For being a Catholic school, the emphasis on religion is inadequate. Unless there is a holy day, Mass is on the first Friday of the month only. At the very least, there should be a school Mass once a week. The uniform policy needs to be more strongly enforced. Some of the older, more traditional prayers
... Read more being taught would be nice. The parish priests need to visit the school more often. The children eat in their class rooms as there is no cafeteria. They need a lunch room!! And, there is no reason why an adequate hot lunch program cannot be started - the 'takeout' that is ordered is mainly junk. The administration and teaching staff have always been wonderful and easy to work with. However, FJVD comes off as more of a private, secular school rather than the Catholic, religious school that it is. Read less

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
English as Second Language
English language classes for students whose first language is not English.
