Media-Providence Friends School

The school has been in decline for many years and the population above kindergarten has continued to go down. Unsustainable.

The perfect school. Our child has grown more than we could have imagined in their short time at MPFS so far. Amazing school.

My children attended MPFS and had wonderful experiences learning how to grow their perspectives as global citizens, practice and have hard conversations about difference, create space for their own voices and be able to advocate for themselves... knowing in real time what they need to be successful.

Overall the experience is good. However, as a Quaker school who touts “teaching to the light “ in each child, there are prevailing challenges with regard to diversity,, belonging, and equity. Additionally, the school charges tuition but lacks the resources to go from good to great. The student body is diverse but the faculty membership is predominantly white female. They have said that the numbers reflect the larger industry numbers but they ignore the fact that they struggle to keep faculty and families of color due to lack of support and lack of inclusive and equitable school culture. The current Head of School also seems to be more concerned about his image, his authority, and discipline as opposed to community and inclusion. He is not collaborative in his lead style and does not place the student voice nor faculty voice at the center. He also does not welcome constructive feedback.

A great little school with extrememly caring teachers!
