Attending Agnes Irwin for my daughter has been both challenging and rewarding. The girls get a bit more homework than the average student, but that's to be expected with a rigorous curriculum. An Agnes Irwin education comes with an expensive price tag, but I can say it's well worth it. Most of the teachers come from top-notch colleges and have lots of experience in their field. My daughter has attended this school since kindergarten and she will be graduating this year. This school challenges girls to succeed and prepares them to become leaders. Most of her teachers have doctorate degrees and they all enjoy teaching these girls. The school prepares them for college by training
... Read more them to be active learners and giving them an environment in which participation is the norm. This school is strong in languages, in the arts and offers extracurricular like robotics and fencing among others. The SSP program offers the girls the opportunity to live abroad for two weeks or to explore an area of interest locally. The parents are very involved but it is up to them to make the effort if they want to feel included. My daughter got into her first choice college and leaves the school bilingual. My daughter is currently a student here and i can honestly say that she has developed into a confident,capable and academically well-round young lady. AIS as a whole is a great school. The only CONS that I have are that the parent gatherings and events which the parents are invited to aren't very inclusive

I graduated from Irwin's in 2004. I'd say the quality of eduation is excellent. They offer a rigorous and challenging course load, and it pays off- I was admitted to two ivy league school among other top universities. The only complaint that I have is that there can be too much parental involvement.

Excellent school for girls. Girls face tasks that prepare them for a role in leadership. Some faculty, however, may not be as capable as they might be. Music is average. Theater average. Your paying for the environment.

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. Before/After School

Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
English as Second Language
English language classes for students whose first language is not English.
