It is a very trying time for teachers and parents alike. We all need to work together to make the experience a positive one for our children. None of my children are in sports, we are not affluent and all are average to above average students. They have never felt like they do not belong or are not welcome. Read less

I have been very disappointed with the NA school system. If your child does not 'blend in', a term used by the principal at NAI, or is a 'character', a term used by the athletic director, he or she will have a very difficult time. Individuality is not valued, nor encouraged.

My daughter has had a great experience at NAI. Although it is big--three middle schools feed into it--there is something for everyone at NAI. The teachers have been first-rate; there are plenty of clubs and extracurricular activities; contrary to what someone said earlier, sports are an important part

All of my children are involved in the chorus programs at their respective schools within the district, and we have found them to be excellent! When some schools are cutting their music and arts program, NASD continues to support theirs! There are lots of honors courses for students to take; the class sizes aren't bad at all for a school this size; the building and grounds are well-kept; there's a great library. We are very happy with this school and the entire district! Read less

We have just moved into the school district. We researched many schools within 20 miles from the City of Pittsburgh. Read more comment about the emphases on sports, from another parent, I believe sports make a child more competitive, to be the best that they can be, makes them strive for bigger and better things in life. True athletes don't give up, they just try harder the next time. Isn't that what we want? We need ambitious young adults who will be our leaders, our scientist, our doctors, our researchers, our business leaders! We want our future full of young adults who won't give up, won't quit when the going gets tough! I rank North Allegheny #1 in the Country Read less

At NAI, I believe most teachers are fantastic, and are preparing kids for the future. NA as a whole puts too much emphasis on sports, though. The music program is fantastic, and is amazing that they finally found a band director that will stay for longer than a year. Go Mr Stefan and the Tiger Marching

Mr. Yanzek, Mr. Gliozzi, Mrs. Keys, my ninth grade Honors English teacher (whose name I have forgotten), Mr. Sloan ('Sloan-San'), Mrs. Lake, Mr. Lindner and several other teachers provided me with an excellent education and the flexibility to pursue whatever path I choose as a life-long learner. While I did feel socially alienated at times, I also was able to thrive creatively and intellectually. The educators at North Allegheny High School are dedicated and highly qualified.
